Definition:

Google Analytics will automatically classify source and medium combinations into marketing channels. For example, if someone clicks an ad on Google search results to visit your website, the source would be ‘google,’ and the medium would be ‘cpc’. Your reports automatically classify this source and medium combination as ‘Paid Search’. Common classifications include ‘Organic Search’, ‘Paid Search’, ‘Email’, ‘Organic Social’, and ‘Paid Social’.
